POSITION SUMMARY

The e-Learning Technical Developer will consult with subject matter experts to develop scenario and web-based learning modules for eLearning solutions. He/she will determine instructional media that is appropriate for learning strategies and learner resources; perform needs analysis, audience analysis, and technical analysis; provide creative approaches to program design; and explore and recommend ideas that broaden and enrich technical coursework.  The e-Learning technical developer will also manage and administer Parata's learning management system.

Prior experience building engaging, impactful user interfaces and graphic design elements for use within media and providing creative direction on interactivity, imagery and branding is crucial. This is a hands-on, customer-oriented position that requires a collaborative approach and a willingness to proactively obtain course content.

duties and responsibilities

  • Consult with subject matter experts and existing curriculum to develop scenario and web-based learning modules for eLearning solutions
  • Determine instructional media appropriate for learning strategies and learner resources; perform needs analysis, audience analysis, and technical analysis; provide creative approaches to program design, and explore and recommend ideas that broaden and enrich the coursework
  • Build engaging, impactful user interfaces and graphic design elements for use within media; provide creative direction on interactivity, imagery, and branding
  • Support the efforts of training project teams from inception to completion; manage multiple projects; organize and prioritize work; and drive task completion
  • Create, edit, and integrate multimedia elements such as audio and video into eLearning modules
  • Keep content relevant and updated
  • Manage and administer the Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Research and deploy industry best practices for eLearning technologies and techniques; research, test, and recommend developer tools

experience and educational requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in eLearning, Instructional Design, or a related field. Practical, hands-on experience plus eLearning technical certifications may be substituted for education.
  • eLearning technical certification a plus
  • Expertise using instructional technology, including video conferencing software, collaborative social networking tools, and presentation software. Familiarity with GoTo Meeting and Adobe Creative Cloud (including Creative Suite) is necessary.
  • At least two years of experience with rapid eLearning development tools like Adobe Captivate and Articulate Storyline
  • At least two years of experience creating Web-based training (WBT) that incorporates audio, video, custom animations and interactions, and custom graphics
  • At least one year of experience administering or managing an LMS and creating, uploading, organizing, and testing SCORM-compliant content that functions within an LMS (SCORM = Sharable Content Object Reference Model)
  • Prior experience developing mobile learning solutions is a plus
